(MENAFN – The Peninsula) QNA Qatar Central Bank (QCB) yesterday issued treasury bills for May 2021, for three, six and nine months, worth QR 600 million.
QCB said in a statement posted on its official website that treasury bills were distributed as follows: QR 300 million for three months at an interest rate of 0.43%; QR 200 million for six months at an interest rate of 0.58%; QR 100 million for nine months at 0.25% interest rate.
The issuance of treasury bills is part of the monetary policy initiatives of Qatar’s central banks and its efforts to strengthen the financial system as well as to activate the tools available for open market operations.
The issue is also one of a series of issues executed by the Central Bank of Qatar on behalf of the Government of the State of Qatar and in accordance with the schedule prepared by the Central Bank of Qatar and the Ministry of Finance.
