(MENAFN – The Peninsula) QNA Doha: The Central Bank of Qatar (QCB) on Tuesday issued treasury bills for July 2021, for three, six and nine months, worth QR 600 million.
QCB said in a statement posted on its official website that the treasury bills were distributed as follows: QR 300 million for three months at an interest rate of 0.33%; QR 200 million for six months at 0.42% interest rate; 100 million QR for nine months at an interest rate of 0.35%.
The issuance of Treasury bills is part of the monetary policy initiatives of the Central Bank of Qatar and its efforts to strengthen the financial system of the State of Qatar as well as to activate the tools available for open market operations.
The issue is also one of a series of issues executed by the Central Bank of Qatar on behalf of the Government of the State of Qatar and in accordance with the schedule prepared by the Central Bank of Qatar and the Ministry of Finance.
Treasury bills are issued by auction for banks operating in the State of Qatar.
