Known for its interesting twists on the usual formula of match-3 puzzle games, Puzzle quest made a strong impression with its original release in 2007. Following the release of its sequel Puzzle Quest 2 in 2010, the series should finally return after more than a decade of absence with Puzzle Quest 3.
505 Games publisher announced Puzzle Quest 3, the third installment in the blockbuster RPG series, which will arrive later this year. So far, it has been confirmed that the game is debuting as a free version on PC and mobile, although it also appears that console versions of the game are planned; however, no specific console has been announced at this time.
So far, there aren’t a ton of concrete details on Puzzle Quest 3, But an official website for the game has been launched with a sign-up page to sign up for updates to the game as it approaches release. 505 Games also gave some additional details about the game, mentioning that it will offer “a variation of traditional puzzle gameplay” alongside “an intense 1v1 combat system achieved in a 3D game world”.
While it’s not a ton at the moment, the announcement of a third entry in the series is still likely to make Puzzle quest happy fans after all these years. Besides the release of the second installment in the series in 2010, a remastered edition of the original game was released on Nintendo Switch in 2019 called Puzzle Quest: The Legend Returns. Thankfully, later this year we can expect a whole new installment in the dormant puzzle game franchise, but for now we’ll have to wait to find out more about its exact release date and platforms. console tables.
