Under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana popularly known as Prime Minister Kisan, the central government provides income support of Rs 6000 per annum to farmers in three equal installments of Rs. 2000 each. Thousands of farmers benefit government plan.
As we know that the Minister of Finance, Nirmala Sitharaman, will present the Union budget 2021 1st February, it is speculated that PM Modi may increase the amount of PM Kisan to bring more farmers under this scheme. Furthermore, Sitharaman has promised a never-before-seen Union budget as the BJP government seeks to reinvigorate the economy.
According to sources, the Center is most likely to announce a cash boost under PM-Kisan yojana to help farmers and calm the situation at Delhi’s borders. Let me tell you that thousands of farmers from different parts of the country, mainly from neighboring Punjab, are protesting against the government’s three contentious measures agricultural bills for the past 51 days.
Who is Prime Minister Kisan Yojana?
Prime Minister Kisan Yojana is the central government’s most ambitious program to benefit the farming community. The program was launched in 2018 and it provides financial assistance of Rs 6,000 per year to farmers. To benefit from the scheme, farmers must register online or offline. The easiest way is online registration which can be done on the official website of PM Kisan – https://pmkisan.gov.in/
PM Kisan Online Registration Process
Farmers must have certain documents before enrolling in the program. Apart from land papers, they must have an Aadhaar card, updated bank details, proof of address, mobile phone number and a passport size photo. With all these documents, they can easily register their name under this program sitting at home.
Steps to register online;
Step 1 – Go to PM Kisan Program Official Website – https://pmkisan.gov.in/. In ‘Farmers corner’, you will see ‘New registration option’, just click on it. Now a new page will open.
Step 2- Write your Aadhaar number on the new page after which the registration form will open.
Step 3 – Fill in all requested details like what state or district you are from. In addition to this, farmers will have to provide their name, gender, category, Aadhaar card details, bank account number to which the money will be transferred, its IFSC code, address, mobile number, date of birth, etc. You will also need to give details of your land. Inquiry or account number, Khasra number, etc.
Step 4 – After filling in all this information, click submit.
Step 5 – Your form will be submitted and the system will provide you with a reference number.

By December 25, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had released over Rs 18,000 crore to over Rs 9 crore farmers under PM-Kisan and he will soon disburse the increased installment to beneficiaries. Therefore, those who have not registered must do so now to benefit from this government program.
