Henry Golding’s wife Liv Lo recently wrote a blog post detailing her pregnancy journey where she revealed she miscarried in early 2020.
As she shared the news of the couple’s successful pregnancy in November, it came as a surprise when Lo took to Instagram on December 20 and wrote, “I have something on my heart that I wanted to share with you, but I don’t think I can share it fully here.
The couple have been together for almost ten years and currently live in Los Angeles. During her first pregnancy, Lo shared that it was difficult to find time with Golding during her ovulation window. However, on New Years Day this year, the couple found out that she was pregnant with a child. With a busy travel schedule, Lo opted to see an Obstetrician-Gynecologist (OBGYN) in week 10 of her pregnancy.
“Besides some stomach aches, I felt good differently,” she wrote.
Lo then revealed that “our baby did not have a heartbeat on the first CT scan” and that she had a miscarriage. The couple’s fertility doctor explained that the miscarriage did not mean she was infertile, but that a “bad egg had been fertilized”.
To make matters worse, Golding was in Tokyo filming his upcoming superhero movie, Snake Eyes, which is a spin-off of the GI Joe film series. Without her husband by her side, Lo had to make an appointment to have the missed abortion procedure herself.
“Even with friends in LA supporting me, going through the process on my own and then catching up with him in Tokyo meant he was left out of the emotional journey. All I needed was a big hug after the procedure, but having to wait a week to travel the world to make up for it was pretty traumatic for me, ”she revealed.
Then in June 2020, during a regular ultrasound, Lo’s doctor mentioned that she had recently dropped an egg and the couple had tried again, it was likely that Lo could be pregnant.
“Due to our past miscarriage, we kept the news private until we reached 20 weeks and were perfectly clear. Five months seemed like a lifetime to me, but happiness still fills me every day. as I continue to make the necessary changes to make room to welcome this miracle into our lives.
Currently at 26 weeks, Lo has written that she continues to be a wife and a teacher while reorganizing Fitsphere, her yoga and wellness website, to further share the journey of pregnancy.
