Axis Mutual Fund launches Quant Fund

Axis Mutual Fund launched its first quantitative fund, a program of variable capital shares following a quantitative model. The fund aims to generate long-term capital appreciation by investing primarily in equities and equity-linked instruments selected on the basis of a systematic quantitative process. The NFO opens June 11 and closes June 25.

The minimum request amount for the NFO is Rs 5,000 and in multiples of Re 1 thereafter. The fund is compared to the S&P BSE 200 TRI. According to the press release, “Axis Quant Fund” will follow a fundamental, quantitative approach to investing. This strategy, through its proprietary internal model, aims to identify the best bottom-up investment opportunities in which to invest while taking into account both risk and return prospects.

“The landscape for active equity investing has changed and markets are becoming more efficient. While introducing new fund offerings to the market, our constant goal has been to provide investors with a basket of products that matches their needs and helps them diversify their portfolio, allowing them to make long term allocations. The launch of Axis Quant Fund is our attempt to continue this journey for investors by offering them a product that can use the power of data to build long-term wealth, ”said Chandresh Nigam, Managing Director and CEO of Axis AMC.

According to the fund’s management company, the fund is suitable for investors looking for new avenues of investment to diversify their existing fund portfolio and aim to allocate for the long term. The fund offers a unique proposition, combining the power of fundamentals with disciplined risk management. It aims to create a diversified portfolio that has the potential to operate throughout the market cycle.
